Foster Information & Application

Thank you for your interest in becoming a foster family for animals at Five Acres Animal Shelter!

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE YOU PROCEED WITH THE APPLICATION.

Five Acres Animal Shelter is the only no-kill shelter in St. Charles County, finding homes for hundreds of dogs and cats every year. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, not affiliated with any other shelter, humane society, or government entity. We do not receive any tax funding – therefore, we rely on the generous support of our donors and volunteers!

This application is not to be used for regular on-site volunteering- you would need to visit the Volunteer page and fill out the Volunteer application to get more information about that.

Please use this form for submitting your information to express interest in becoming a foster family for a dog, cat, puppies or kittens.  This application and a home visit must be completed before volunteer foster families will be matched with a foster dog or cat – you will be contacted by the Canine or Feline Coordinator to confirm a home visit.

All dogs and cats in the volunteer foster family home must be spayed or neutered before a Five Acres dog or cat can be placed. Additionally, all shelter dogs and cats are expected to remain indoors the majority of the time.

Your application will be reviewed, and references will be checked.

If you have any questions, please call Kate, the Volunteer Coordinator at 636-949-9918 ex. 5 or email her at volunteer@fiveacresanimalshelter.org.

Your cooperation is appreciated – again, thank you for interest!
