After you have submitted your application, we will review to make sure that you are a candidate to complete Community Service hours at Five Acres.  Please allow time for a response, and due to high interest in this program, we may or may not be able to schedule Orientations to fit all schedules at any given time, so please apply well ahead of the date that your hours are required to be completed. • Domestic Violence
  • Assault
  • Possession of drugs or controlled substances with intent to sell
  • Larceny/theft/burglary of any sort/breaking and entering

Community Service volunteers must be able to complete hours independently. We also require attendance at an Orientation to discuss the kinds of tasks that could be performed and various opportunities we offer, as well as safety procedures.

A $15 tax-deductible Orientation fee must be paid at the time of the Orientation.

Five Acres Animal Shelter is the only no-kill shelter in St. Charles County, finding homes for over a thousand dogs and cats every year. We are a small 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, not affiliated with any other shelter, humane society, or government entity. We do not receive any tax funding – therefore, we rely on the generous support of our donors and volunteers!

Thank you!
