Barooo! My name is Smokey. Don’t let my sad eyes fool you, I am a sweet and happy girl and I love everyone I meet! I came from Kennett, MO where a lot of dogs are neglected and was transferred to Five Acres in September. I tested positive for heartworms like many dogs do that come from Southern Missouri. I’ve been living in a foster home with three other Coonhounds like me and a kitten. I love to snuggle in my bed and run and play in the yard. I’ve even gone on a few adventures to the pet store and Bass Pro where I’ve met so many people that pet me and give me yummy treats! I love to go on walks and get excited every time I see me leash. If you leave for work and don’t take me with you, I will be sad and howl for a couple minutes then I’ll lay down in my bed with my friends. I am crate trained and potty trained, but prefer to be left out to snuggle on my bed during the day. I haven’t been destructive yet, but I’ve been known to have a burst of puppy energy and knock a pillow or two off the couch to show off for my friends! Even though my foster mom and dad love me so much I would love to find a forever home as soon as possible while I’m going through my heartworm treatment. If you think I’m the perfect one for you, you could foster me until I have completed my heartworm treatment and then officially adopt me when I’m all better! I would love a home with someone I can snuggle with, a nice yard for me to lay in the sun and a family that will keep me on heartworm preventatives so I don’t have to go through this again! If you would like to meet me you can call 636-949-9918 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and the canine staff will notify my foster mom and dad!
I am microchipped, vaccinated and will be spayed once I have completed my heartworm treatment.
